The philosophy of Budhi Skincare is embodied in its name: Budhi is the Sanskrit word for intellect. We want kids to use their heads, to make responsible choices for the health of their body and to take a deeper look beyond the surface of skin. Our goal is to help restore their confidence in the knowledge that they are not alone in their struggle to manage their skin issues.
Budhi Skincare began out of the desire to create an honest, effective and simple skin care system that addresses the changing needs of adolescent skin. Frustrated in their own efforts to find safe and effective skin care products for their own pre-teens and teens, and disappointed with the lack of choices and false claims out in the marketplace, the creators of Budhi Skincare have formulated a unique skincare line for young people ages 9-19.
Budhi Teencare, launched in December 2010, is a skin care line for all pre-teens and teens, offering gentle, safe and effective products that help manage sensitive and changing skin with the highest quality ingredients that science and nature have to offer.
What makes Budhi Teencare different is what’s not in our products. Budhi Skincare products are free of chemicals, such as: parabens, sodium laurel/laureth sulfates, phthalates, synthetic fragrance, dyes and irritating essential oils such as lavender, citrus and peppermint. Why? Because your skin is the largest organ of your body and what you put on your body can be absorbed into your body. All of the above ingredients are questionable as to their safety, especially to a child’s lifetime exposure, so we have erred on the side of caution and chosen not to use them in our formulas. As for essential oils, they may smell great but don’t belong on your face! Some essential oils may cause allergic reactions and irritate your skin.
The truth is, what is "organic and all-natural" is not always best, especially when it comes to skin care products. It can be more marketing hype than efficacy. However, neither is a product loaded with potentially toxic, irritating synthetic ingredients. Budhi Skincare combines the best of both science and nature without the hype.
